Rasta Lipstick Plant (Aeschynanthus radicans) 5”pot

The Rasta Lipstick Plant is known for its distinctive curly foliage and bright, tube-shaped red flowers that emerge from deep maroon buds—resembling a tube of lipstick being opened. Its twisted, glossy leaves give it a unique, textured appearance. As a trailing plant, the Lipstick Plant creates a lush, cascading display that adds beauty to indoor spaces. Its “curls” allow this plant to hang gracefully from suspended planters or elevated surfaces. 

CARE:

• Water when the first 1/4 to 1/3 of the soil is dry during the growing season (spring/summer)
• During the colder months, you can allow the first 1/2 of the soil to dry before water- it's crucial not to maintain soggy soil as this can quickly lead to rot.
• Appreciates moderate humidity
• It does best with bright, indirect light and benefits from a few hours of morning or evening sun, but prolonged exposure to intense afternoon sun can scorch and wilt the leaves.
• Keep away from drafty windows.
• Can tolerant periods of lower light, but consistent light is needed for "lipstick" blooms to occur
• Pruning is not essential, but trimming broken, scraggly, or old stems can improve the plant's overall appearance and potentially lead to a fuller, leafier plant. 
• You can pinch off spent flowers to promote further blooming.
